My name is Peter Uikelotu, and my story starts in the heart of Sydney’s Inner West — Bankstown — where rugby league wasn’t just a game; it was part of who we were.
Growing up in an environment rich with footy history, I was challenged early to make something of myself in the sport. I attended Fairfield Patrician Brothers’ College — a school notorious for producing winners and instilling a deep, unrelenting love for rugby league. That environment lit a fire in me and gave me a greater desire to take my game further.
In my junior years, I represented the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and later the Canberra Raiders. These were the environments where I truly learned the game — intensely and professionally. The daily grind of elite training camps, structured sessions, high-performance standards, relentless fitness demands, iron discipline, unbreakable mateship, and a winning culture shaped everything I know about what it takes to succeed at the highest level. That professionalism — the way every rep was earned, every standard upheld, every teammate lifted — created something permanent in me: a burning intention to pass those same values on to the next generation.
When one door closed in Canberra, another opened. I moved to Coffs Harbour to reignite that flame, and what began as a gap year turned into a lifetime commitment to the Coffs Coast community and my family.
In Coffs, I saw a different standard: raw physicality, tenacity, and pure passion for the game. When COVID hit, and participation in rugby league dipped, I saw an opportunity. The Coffs Harbour Snappers and Coffs Harbour Marlins combined to form the Harbour Knights, and I wanted to help bridge the gap between codes and keep the fire alive.
I’d spent years honing my skills across Rugby League and Rugby Union, even dabbling in AFL for a time — and I knew I had something valuable to give back.
That’s where Chris and I teamed up to create the Next Phase Athletes.
I want to pass on everything I’ve learned — the early-morning gym sessions, hill and beach sprints, nutrition, speed work, mindset, discipline, mateship, and the relentless grind it takes to succeed — to young players in the Coffs Coast region and beyond.
My mission is simple: to help the next generation go further than I did. To instil the same professionalism, fitness standards, discipline, and team-first mentality I learned in those elite junior environments. Whether it’s earning rep honours, landing a pro contract, or simply becoming the best version of themselves on and off the field. I want to be part of their journey and give them every tool to succeed.
If you’re ready to take your game to the next phase, I’m here to help you get there.
Let’s build something special together.
